The annual Fishing and Casting Derby for Kids was held Saturday, June 18, 2011 at the Westfield Fish and Game Club on Ogden Road. The derby is for all children in the area, ages 5 to 12. There is no charge and lunch is provided.
A parent or guardian must be in attendance.
Participants bring a pole and bait (no minnows). A limited number of poles and a shovel is available.
This event was co-sponsored by Wal-Mart, Westfield Fish and Game Club and the Westfield Recreation Department. Call the Westfield Recreation Department at 326-4243 for more information.
Registrations for Fall Local Youth Soccer will be held at the Eason Hall in Westfield on Tuesday and Thursday, June 14 & 16 from 6 to 8 p.m. Sign ups are for children ages 4 thru 11.
(For children turning 4 by Aug. 22 and not turning 12 until Oct. 23) Games will begin Sept. 10 and end Oct. 22. Fees are $20.00 for the first child, $15.00 for the second and $10.00 for the third ($45.00 maximum per family). Scholarships are available.

Westfield Skate Park’s Third Annual Skate-e-Scoot-Bike Competition will be held on Sunday, Aug. 14 from

Westfield Youth Basketball for Grade 5-6 Boys will start on January 7 from 9-10 am at the WACS High School gym. The fee is $20 for the first child in a family, $15 for the second, and $10 for the third (Max $45 per family) and scholarships are available.
